But while the Kookaburras kept a clean sheet, team captain Michael Murray said it still wasn’t their best performance.
“I think we went through the motions and took our foot off the gas a bit in the second half,” he said.
“We don’t want to make a habit of doing that.”

Kris Spilarewicz found the back of the net three times for Hill Top with Andrew Rae and Jack Dawson also scoring goals for the Kookaburras.
Murray said Tim Stone had a good game at the back and gave the team the go forward it needed.
With a few new players in the Hill Top squad this year, players are still continuing to gel as the season progresses.
“With most things we’re pretty good. But we’ve got to try and keep our shape for the full 90 minutes. When we took our foot off the pedal we were a bit scattered.”
It’s a problem Murray said the side had been guilty of in previous years and something he hoped would not continue.
This weekend Hill Top will face Bowral. While Bowral may be at the bottom on the ladder, it scored its first goal for 2018 on the weekend in a 2-1 loss to Moss Vale.
Team captain Larry Mullan said Bowral again allowed Moss Vale to get off to a good start which left the team playing catch up football.
“In a competition which has left us feeling outclassed by the two heavyweights (Hill Top and Yerrinbool), our games against Moss Vale and Mittagong are something we look forward to and feel that when we eventually play them at full strength, we may come away with a win,” he said. “In saying that, we will need to bring our best if we were ever going to beat the young and capable Mossy boys.
“Even though we know we will struggle to win many games in the 2018 season, we still have a faithful bunch of boys who love their football and turn up enthusiastically each week and always give their absolute best.”
In the other men’s premier league match this weekend, Yerrinbool will take on Mittagong while Moss Vale has the bye.
