Each year, a picture book is selected for a simultaneous reading event in libraries, schools, preschools, family homes, children’s hospitals and bookshops.
This year’s book will be Hickory Dickory Dash, written by Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood.
For the first time, children in New Zealand will join in and two nations will read together.
Last year, The Cow Tripped Over The Moon, was read by author Tony Wilson and streamed live over Facebook.
More than 68,000 readers in more than 6000 community events across the country read along.
The Southern Highlands Storytime event will be held from 11am on May 23 at Bowral Library.
