The game has come a long way since the original brave players took to the water in unheated pools.
At the AGM held recently, a new board was elected, which has a retro look to it, made up of five life members, including a founding member in Tony Springett.
There are two other board positions, which were filled by Greg Puchert, as treasurer and Leanne Butcher, as secretary.
One of the first tasks of the new board and the operating committees will be to organise the winter water polo.
This will be a great opportunity to try water polo, as training and skills development for both juniors and seniors will be a big part of the winter evenings.
More details will emerge in the next few weeks.
A pleasing feature of the AGM, was the number of people willing to volunteer for various committees.
These committees will make sure the various competitions, in both the senior and junior domains run smoothly.
There are of course opportunities for others to join in and support this club and sport.
The new board is :
Tony Springett (0414 622 222), Carl Phillips (0427 049 006), Andrew Basaglia (0407 002 906), Dave Chandler (0408 030 099), Miles Lochhead (0409 038 366) as well as Greg Puchert and Leanne Butcher.
The club encourages people to be involved, for players to return to the game or new players to join.
