That’s the message from awards founder Steve Loe. The Precedent Production managing director founded the awards more than 30 years ago as an opportunity for members of the community to recognise businesses that provide outstanding goods and services. “Year after year, the stand-out message from our nominees has been that the awards’ judging process gives them a framework in which they can reflect on every aspect of their business – from customer service to presentation,” Mr Loe said.
“The awards provides an opportunity and framework for business owners and managers to take an impartial look at what they and their teams are doing, then make adjustments to suit.”
Customers nominate and vote for businesses in industry categories with winners of each category then considered for the main award - Business of the Year.
The awards are made possible by the ongoing support of major sponsors, NOVA Employment and support sponsors, Wingecarribee Shire Council and Boral Cement Berrima.
Mr Loe said the sponsors wanted to support the efforts of Highlands businesses and acknowledge their important role in the community. “The awards are only possible because of the sponsors and their support,” he said.
He also encouraged members of the community to nominate and vote for their favourite local businesses by visiting the awards’ website www.thebusinessawards.com.
Everyone who nominates a business will be in the running to win a Nespresso KitchenAid Coffee Machine. Nominations for the 2018 Southern Highlands Local Business Awards will close on June 12 with the winners announced at the Awards Presentation Evening, on August 8.
Southern Highland News will provide updates on the progress of the awards program, and will also run a Finalists’ and Winners’ Feature. Details: 8588 5060 or visit www.thebusinessawards.com.au
