Bowral’s grade six team went down to Campbelltown in a incredible match by one shot.
Campbelltown scored 52 shots to Bowral’s 51 shots with the home team winning one rink with one rink a draw and a loss on one rink.
Campbelltown City scored 8.5 points to Bowral’s 1.5 points.
Don Coleman, Alistair McGhee, Nathan Boyers and David Coltman defeated Campbelltown 20-10
A very confident Bowral side was always in control of this match leading 11-4 after 11 ends and went on to victory by 10 shots.
Robin Staples, Bruce Clynes, Russell Knight and Kevin Stafford played out a 20-20 draw.
For the first 12 ends the scores very tight at 10-10.
Heading into the last end Bowral led 20-19.
When Campbelltown scored one shot on the last end to force a draw it was a fair result for both sides.
Carl Spilker, Don Chapman, Ken Handley and Russell Fahey lost to Campbelltown 22-11.
Campbelltown held a 11-5 lead at the halfway mark and went on to a comfortable win by 11 shots.
Bowral is leading in this grade but cannot party just yet as they have had their margin cut back.
In grade seven Bowral defeated Campbelltown.
Bowral won 5.5 points to Campbelltown’s 4.5 points with Bowral winning two rinks and losing one rink.
Both teams scored 59 shots.
Last week Bowral defeated Camden RSL who were the leaders and this week humbled the leaders Campbelltown City .
But Bowral still remains in third spot on the ladder.
Oscar Whalan, Clive Neutze, Brian Porter and Bob Edwards defeated Campbelltown 23-15.
Campbelltown held the lead 14-11 after 15 ends but a good spirited fightback by Bowral enabled them to run out eight shot winners.
Glen Giese, Owen Williams, Mick Flynn and Dan Ticehurst defeated Campbelltown 22-21.
Bowral was down and out after 18 ends and Campbelltown held a 19-13 lead.
But with scores of four shots on the 19th end and five shots on the 20th end Bowral themselves 22-19 leaders.
With Campbelltown scoring two shots on the last end, Bowral won by one shot.
Kel Limbrick, Graham Hunt, Bill Meredith and Gordon Lewis lost to Campbelltown 23-14.
After 11 ends Campbelltown had a 16-7 lead. With Campbelltown always in control they ran out nine shot winners.
