Moss Vale Hospital Auxiliary will hold a Mothers’ Day lunch on May 7 at the Senior Citizen’s Centre in Queen Street, Moss Vale, from 1.30pm. Entry is $8 and there will also be a raffle. Tickets available at the door.

CWA meeting
The Bowral Branch of CWA will hold its next meeting on May 8 at 1.30 pm. The speaker topic will be skincare products. Afternoon tea will be served following the meeting. New members and guests are welcome at the meeting to be held at the CWA rooms, 40 Wingecarribee Street (adjacent to Corbett Gardens). Details: Secretary 4861 5425.
Fashion parade
CWA Bowral will hold a Mother’s Day fashion parade from 11.30am on May 9 in the CWA rooms at 40 Wingecarribee Street. Fashions will be supplied by a local fashion house and a light lunch will be served following the parade. Other activities will include a raffle, lucky door prize and discount vouchers up for grabs. Proceeds of the day will go towards a domestic violence prevention program. Bookings are essential for catering purposes. Entry cost $7.50. Busy Bees
Busy Bees Playgroup meets at the Mittagong Uniting Church 1-7 Albert St, Mittagong, each Friday during the school term. The playgroup is held in the church hall from 10.30am.
Seniors' Club
Mittagong Seniors’ Club meets each Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 2.30pm at the Community Centre in Queen Street, Mittagong. Come for morning tea at 10am to learn more. The group offers a variety of activities including craft, games, ukulele and various outings.
Bible lessons
Casual, flexible and free seminars on learning to read the Bible effectively are available at the Loseby Park community hall each Sunday from 9.15am to 10.15am. The Highlands Christadelphians currently offer a continuous series of seminars designed to help people learn how to understand the Bible for themselves. No attempt is made to teach doctrines. This is more like a "How To" guide with hints on how to allow the Bible to interpret itself. The small group currently attending includes people from 18 to about 50 years of age. It is informal, and participants are invited to contribute their questions, or simply listen to the others. All are welcome. No bookings are necessary. Come and go as you wish. High tea
Winter fashions will be put in the spotlight at a Champagne High Tea. It is a special event to be held during Paliative Care Week which runs from May 20-26. The Winter Wonderland Fashion Parade will be presented by Southern Highlands Community Hospice on May 23 in the ballroom at Annesley, 10 Westwood Drive, Bowral. Fashions from the SHC Hospice Fashion Shops will be showcased and can be purchased on the day. Entry is $20 per person with strictly limited spaces available.
