Hayden Wallace, Jesse Elliott, Tim Townsend, Jye Frazer and Dylan Palmer-Quigg have been selected for the GSR Wests Tigers under 23 training squad.
The players will represent Mittagong in the country championships on Saturday, where they will meet the Riverina at Campbelltown Stadium.
Mittagong Lions president Dave Elliott said the opportunity was due reward for hard work.
“As a club we’re really happy for them to be selected. It’s a reward for their effort in the pre-season and the way they’ve played so far,” Elliott said.
“There will be NRL scouts so there’s an opportunity for them to be picked up. They will playing against better opposition so they will improve their game and they might make lifelong friends.
“The club wishes the boys all the best.”

Mittagong Lions first grade coach Dan Beardshaw said he was pleased to see hard work pay off for the players.
“All of the boys have been working well with me over the last two years. They’re dedicated,” Beardshaw said.
“They’ve got to be proud of their work.
“It’s recognition of the talent in the Highlands.”
Beardshaw said the players’ achievement was one of the many good things happening at the Mittagong club.
“As a club we’re heading in the right direction,” he said.
“We’re pretty happy with how we’re going. The boys are working hard.”
The five players will join others from the Picton Magpies, the Oakdale Workers, the City Kangaroos, the Narellan Jets, the Thirlmere Roosters and the Camden Rams.
The training squad will be coached by Russell Lewis and managed by Brendan Reeves.
