Moss Vale CWA branch will hold its next coffee and craft morning on May 3. This will be held at the CWA rooms at 66 Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale, from 9.30am to 12.00pm. All welcome, especially if you are new to our area as this is a great way to meet friendly local folk. Pop in for a chat, a cuppa or bring along your project and work among lively conversation. CWA Evening branch
The next meeting of the Southern Highlands Evening Branch, CWA NSW will be held on May 3. Meetings are held on the first Thursday at the Mittagong CWA Rooms, Winifred West Park, Old Hume Highway, Mittagong, at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start. New members, of any age are very welcome to come along and join the group for a night to see what makes this branch so unique. This month’s speaker will be a branch member, Jane Aspinwall. She will speak on Poland, the country CWA is studying this year. Jane will also talk about Sir Pawel Edmund Strzelecki and Tadeus Kosciusko after whom Mt Kosciusko was named. Craft morning
Get crafty with Bowral CWA craft group. The next gathering of the group is on May 1. If you are new to the Highlands this is a good way to meet people in a fun and friendly environment while honing your craft skills. Mothers’ Day lunch
Moss Vale Hospital Auxiliary will hold a Mothers’ Day lunch on May 7 at the Senior Citizen’s Centre in Queen Street, Moss Vale, from 1.30pm. Entry is $8 and there will also be a raffle. Tickets available at the door.
CWA meeting
The Bowral Branch of CWA will hold its next meeting on May 8 at 1.30 pm. The speaker topic will be skincare products. Afternoon tea will be served following the meeting. New members and guests are welcome at the meeting to be held at the CWA rooms, 40 Wingecarribee Street (adjacent to Corbett Gardens). Details: Secretary 4861 5425.
Fashion parade
CWA Bowral will hold a Mother’s Day fashion parade from 11.30am on May 9 in the CWA rooms at 40 Wingecarribee Street. Fashions will be supplied by a local fashion house and a light lunch will be served following the parade. Other activities will include with a raffle, lucky door prize and discount vouchers up for grabs. Proceeds of the day will go towards a domestic violence prevention program. Seniors' Club
Mittagong Seniors’ Club meets each Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 2.30pm at the Community Centre in Queen Street, Mittagong. Come for morning tea at 10am to learn more. The group offers a variety of activities including craft, games, ukulele and various outings.
Bushwalks
Southern Highland Bushwalkers Inc. will embark on a week of bushwalks in the Blackheath area from May 6 to 12. The group will be based at Blackheath Caravan Park where cabin, tent and caravan sites are available. There are various walks on offer in the Mount York, Blackheath, area including Gouches Crater.
