Classical musical by Thorough Bass will sweep through St Jude’s Church.
Artistic director Diana Weston said the warm climate of Italian and Spanish-speaking countries was the inspiration behind A Latino Love Affair.
“Think hot, sunny days, languid evenings and sudden thunderstorms,” she said.
Weston promised an energetic and easy to listen to program, full of variety and interest.
“In a mixed program from the past and present, we bring the pizzazz and energy of Pablo Escande’s Capricho, a musical episode in the life of Don Quixote in May Howlett’s Tilting at Windmills, and take you to sultry danger-filled nights in Buenos Aires with Piazzolla’s Fuga y misterio,” Weston said.
Weston said she loved working as an ensemble, but for this show, would work dominantly in duets.
“The music we have chosen for the performance is well-suited to duets,” she said.
“They are joyful, warm and summery pieces.”
Israeli-born keyboard player Michael Tsalka will join the ensemble as one of his seven Australian performances.
The ensemble will include Shaun Warden and Shaun Ng on violin, Tara Hashambuoy on viola, Lucy Cormack on cello, Angus Ryan on cello, and Diana Weston on harpsichord.
A Latino Love Affair will come to life on Sunday, April 29 at 3pm at St Jude’s Anglican Church, Bowral.
An adult ticket will cost $35 and a concession ticket will cost $30.
Tickets will be available at the door or online at www.thoroughbass.com.au.
