Extreme winds were the cause for fallen trees and broken power lines at Loseby Park.
State Emergency Services attended the scene to close Sheffield Road and clear the area.
They estimated it would take until late afternoon for the road to re-open.
No houses were damaged or believed to have lost power.
The Loseby Park Five Ways Mini Fest was postponed due to the incident. The new date is yet is be confirmed.
The park can still be accessed via Loseby Street and Park Road.
