The Rotary Club of Bowral-Mittagong sponsors young people to Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN). This an intensive program for young people aged 14-17, consisting of group sessions, workshops, sport and entertainment activities.
The presenters will talk at keynote sessions and share their experiences with participants, while emphasizing the need to work hard and stay focused. At the same time participants are interacting with peers from different backgrounds and also improving their team working and leadership skills. This is all done in an informal atmosphere, where questions and debate are encouraged.
Nominees are accommodated in dormitory style modern rooms, and all meals are provided in a communal dining room. The District RYPEN Committee live in for the duration of the camp and provide counselling and security.
We have often heard participants refer to RYPEN as a “life-changing experience”. It has a powerful impact!
If you think a young person you know has qualities worth developing with such a program then you should nominate them for RYPEN now.
2018 courses for our district will be May 18-20 and September 14-16 with a closing date for enrolment of May 4 for the May course. Enrolment forms are available on the website, www.rotaryd9710.org.au. All RYPEN camps are held at Old Mogo Town in Mogo, south of Batemans Bay.

The club enjoyed a ‘sold out’ fund-raising film night showing “Finding Your Feet” at the Empire Cinema on February 22, which will help us support such ventures. We are extremely grateful to the Empire, Rotherwood Wines, McDonalds, Glam, club members and patrons for making the evening such a success.
