A celebration of friendships brought together by cricket, the eight day tournament features teams from across the world competing in a 12-match fixture.
The historic Bradman Oval played host to three of the tournament’s matches, with India and Singapore taking on Hong Kong on January 11, following on from SCG XI and MCC XI taking on I Zingari on Monday, January 8.
The son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, 18 year-old fast bowler Arjun Tendulkar, was the darling of the tournament, managing to score four wickets against Hong Kong on Thursday just before midday.
Captain and manager of the Singapore team, Arjun Kakar, said the tournament was an opportunity for cricketers to enjoy and celebrate the experience of cricket.
“The idea behind the tournament is for us to get out there in the world and interact with different clubs and soak up different atmospheres,” Mr Kakar said.
“The Bradman Oval has a lot of history and legacy, and the fact that we’re sitting a stone’s throw away from where Donald Bradman used to live feels like an experience in itself.
“It’s an absolute privilege to play here.
“This opportunity is great for cricketers in Singapore. Singapore isn’t typically on the map of the international cricket at this point in time, but it does have a rich legacy of cricket – we’re the oldest cricket club in the Southeast Asian region.”
