On Sunday and Monday nights, Highlanders played witness to some huge cracks of thunder and some pretty frightening strikes of lightening.
It’s been reported by residents that Moss Vale was hit with a huge strike of lightening about 10.30pm on Sunday night.
One resident described the sight as “crazy” and said the strike made a noise loud enough to wake the birds of the neighbourhood.
The lightening returned on Monday, January 8 along with about 0.8mm of rainfall from 9am to 12am.
More than 3mm of rain fell before 8am on Tuesday morning and a storm was forecast to hit by late afternoon.
The Bureau of Meteorlogy forecast possible rainfall for the rest of the week and it is expected that the sun will be back out by Monday, January 15 with top temperatures of 27.
The lightening and thunder was set to stop by today with temperatures to sit around the mid-to-high 20s.
