Considering this is my last ‘Commander's Desk’ before Christmas, I would like to wish all our community a very merry, and safe, Christmas.

There is no doubt your support has helped us to make our community a safer place to live, work and play.
In fact crime statistics in our area suggest crime rates are at historical lows.
This is an outcome we could not have achieved without the great work of our local police, alongside the help of our partners, and of course the community.
I hope everyone has got time off during this Christmas period to enjoy some well earned rest and recreation with their families and loved ones.
My Christmas day will be spent entertaining my family at home, including over 40 members of my wife's colourful family, so I am very much looking forward to Boxing Day!!
Please also spare a thought for those police, and all emergency service workers, who cannot be with their families over Christmas.
This would be due to the fact that they will be at work keeping us safe over this busy period.
We have all available police out on our roads to try and stop those who cannot keep themselves safe.
Be aware that many police will be at work whilst everyone else is enjoying their special time during this festive season.
Please make it easy for them by drinking responsibly and driving safely.
Also, this is not the time to leave your house or car unlocked – thieves don’t take a Christmas break.
Once again, thank you for all your support throughout the year.
All the very best wishes over this festive season!
