Steve Day and Don Coleman defeated David Riddle and Bruce Clynes 20-18.
All four players impressed in the hot conditions with Day and Coleman winning by two.
Brian Bailey and Col Stone defeated Bill Donnely and John Lewis 19-17. At the halfway mark Donnelly and Lewis had a 11-9 lead. Bailey and Stone with a compact game took out the match by two shots.
