In partnership with the University of Wollongong, Hume Coal awarded three scholarships in 2017 to three students, studying in the fields of engineering and commerce.
The scholarships are aimed at students from within the Wingecarribee Shire and designed to relive some of the financial stress which commonly accompanies tertiary study.
Three $7000 scholarships will be made available again in 2018.
Application dates will soon be available.
One of the students who received a scholarship this year said it had been of great benefit to their study in the field of engineering.
“It is an honour to be recognised by industry and allows for relationships to form that can open doors to the future,” they said.
“The financial assistance of this award enables me to prioritise my study, be technologically current and seek further experiences to learn overseas.”
