They’ve all come to life at Mittagong Public School in their newest fundraiser – an exciting adventure novel set within the school, published by school fundraising business My School Adventure.
The Art Show That Came To Life At Mittagong Public School features four of Mittagong Public School’s teachers as characters– and with 22 different endings, students are loving it.
Mittagong Public School principal Garry Mansfield said the idea to involve names of the teachers made it truly feel like the school owned the novel.
“We’re really excited to see what the students think of the story and how it all turns out because it’s a choose-your-own-adventure kind of idea,” he said.
“I think that everyone’s going to have a load of fun with it.”
Mittagong Public School P&C President, Sarah Farnese, first suggested the novel fundraiser and everyone was immediately excited.
“We’re always encouraging students to read. A story involving their school and their teachers really excites our students and encourages them to pick up a book in the first place. If they get involved in the story, it’s a win,” she said.
Mittagong Public School P&C added to the fun by running a 5 cent fundraiser to choose which teachers would win a place in the book.
“The teachers were really, really supportive. They put their names forward very freely and encouraged the children to get involved. I think that they really loved the fact that the book was going to be about the school and that it was going to promote reading, which is what they’re always after,” Sarah said.
The four teachers starring in The Art Show That Came To Life At Mittagong Public School are Miss Michael, Mr Christodoulopoulos, Mr Leith and Mrs Bahls.
