Out of 180 NRMA proprietors, John Abel has been awarded the honour of being the best this year.

John, who is proprietor of the Bowral and Mittagong agencies won 2017 Proprietor of the Year out of all the NSW Country offices earlier this month.

“We’re very excited to win such a prestigious award judged by our peers,” he said.

“It’s a recognition of the outstanding work our team does consistently.”

He said his team always provided top quality service for their policy holders and provided them with information to get the best out of their policy in order to suit their needs.

The award was judged on store presentation, customer service and sales.

John said he had won a site awards before but it was the first time he had received the Proprietor of the Year award.

He and his wife own 24 NRMA agencies including ones in Merimbula, Woonona, Katoomba, Goulburn, Queanbeyan and the ACT.

They live in Alpine and have owned the Mittagong agency for 21 years and took over the Bowral site about three years ago.

Across the 24 agencies, they employ more than 120 employees and perform road service at some locations.
