The crash, which happened before 9am on Wednesday morning resulted in a blaze.
With both lanes of the Hume Highway closed to traffic and diversions in place, it was sheer luck that a truck carrying 4,500 litres Mount Franklin water was on the scene.
The NSW RFS tweeted a video of the truck with a hose connected pumping water from the tankers.
“Right place at the right time. 45000L of Mt Franklin water assisting with the truck crash on Hume Hwy near Berrima,” the tweet read.
Having tagged Coca-Cola Amatil in the post, they responded with a “glad we could be there to help!”.
The north bound lane is still closed as of 2.20pm.
The fire has been contained.
