Sailing into a new season

The racing season got underway on Sunday with rounds one and two of the Commodore's Cup handicap series. Fifteen boats lined up in light to moderate NW'ly winds.

Unfortunately one of the race markers came adrift and headed for the shore and the race had to be abandoned. The second race started well but a bit of mix up meant there were only 5 who finished the correct course. The results were;

1st - Phil Wales (Nacra 5.8)

2nd - Dave Morrow (Tornado)

3rd - Greg Yalg (Windrush)

So a few teething problems coming out of the sleepy winter but it was good to see some keen racing and some more boats being dragged out on the water.

Sailing takes place on the Fitzroy Falls Reservoir every Sunday until the end of April from 0930. Visitors are welcome as are new members. For more information visit our Facebook site or call George on 0490094998.
