On Thursday, October 5 they were on display at the Wingecarribee Shire Community Services Expo, held at the Bowral Memorial Hall, for all to see.
Now in its 12th year, the expo aims to gather local charities, community services and not-for-profit organisations in the Wingecarribee Shire together to share information about their activities and learn about the work of other groups within the community.
It featured organisations focused around counselling, youth mental health, navigating the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Indigenous business-startups and domestic violence support.
This year’s theme was ‘Do you know who cares?’ in the hope that community members would be motivated to learn more about localised services that are there to help.
Councillor and chair of the Wingecarribee community forums Larry Whipper said the expo was an important way to show that “people are not forgotten down here”.
