He set out from Perth in September last year on a journey that has taken him across the country.

And soon Clinton Pryor will pass through the Wingecarribee Shire in his Walk for Justice.

He began the walk to protest forced closures of Indigenous communities in Western Australia.

A committee will welcome Clinton to the shire when he arrives on Gundungurra land.

There will be a ceremony at the Aboriginal Cultural and Community Centre on August 21 at 1pm and all members of the community are welcome to join Clinton as he walks through through the shire.

Ray Collins of Deadlygoalkicking said Clinton’s visit was an opportunity for all Highlanders to be involved in this historic journey.

"We want Clinton and the team to have a wonderful experience as they travel through the Gundungurra lands and Wingecarribee Shire,” he said.

"We want to show respect for this remarkable young man, known as the Spirit Walker, who has undergone this enormous journey for all us, for all Australians to have a better future. We want to walk with him and we invite everyone Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal to join with us and Clinton to accompany him on this part of his journey. We see this as a unifying opportunity."

Donations such as accommodation, fuel, food and shoes are also needed for Clinton and his support team.

Anyone who can contribute can contact Kim Leevers at or call 0409463123.

Clinton will finish his journey in Canberra on September 3 at Parliament House.
