Disney On Ice brings Frozen to the WIN Entertainment Centre, June 15 to 18

Once a year the WIN Entertainment Centre is transformed into a magical winter wonderland where Disney characters come to play.

From Thursday night Anna, Esla, Olaf and friends will gracefully skate around a frosty stage for Disney on Ice presents Frozen.

The show is suitable for children of all ages and covers a large performance area so even the really littlies will be able to see the action (there’s also wheelchair and pram access).

There will be a chance to high-five Anna and Elsa while some other Disney favourites will make a cameo appearance.

Kids under 23-months-old are allowed to watch for free, as long as they’re sitting on a parent’s lap.

The total running time for the show is one hour and 47 minutes, that includes a 20 minute intermission for toilet breaks and snacks.

Throughout the performance it will seem like it’s actually snowing with 20 snow machines pumping out around 40 litres of snow.

There will be a chance to high-five Anna and Elsa while some other Disney favourites will make a cameo appearance.

Organisers advise to dress for winter, though the giant ice-rink won’t turn audience members to frost and is at “a pleasant standard room temperature”.

Nearly 40 performers make up the cast, each wearing between one and five costumes; 108 costumes in total used amongst the entire cast.

Elsa’s Ice Queen Dress is hand painted silk chiffon with her own unique snowflake pattern.

Please note: pyrotechnics, strobe and flash lighting are used throughout the show.
