Two people have been taken to hospital following a crash on the Hume Highway.
A motorcycle and a Subaru Forester were involved in the incident.
The motorcycle driver, a man aged in his 50s, was treated at the scene and then airlifted to Liverpool Hospital with serious injuries.
The 72-year-old female driver of the Subaru was driven to Liverpool Hospital with minor injuries.
Police were called to the scene at about 2.00pm, May 20.
The Crime Investigation Unit is currently investigating the crash.
May 20, 4.12pm:
The Hume Highway southbound lane is closed after an accident near Pheasants Nest.
A car and a motorcycle were involved in the crash, which has also affected northbound traffic.
Traffic is being diverted onto Picton Road. The traffic lights at Picton Road at flashing yellow to warn of changed traffic conditions.
Police, RMS and a helicopter are currently on the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Southbound heavy vehicles at the accident scene are being held on site.
Traffic is heavy on the Hume Highway and Picton Road approaching the interchange.
