A good fleet of 12 boats attended Fitzroy Dam for round 16 of the Commodore’s Cup on April 16.
The Cup was sailed in a variable northwesterly breeze that shifted to a cool southeasterly later in the afternoon.
Water levels were back up to 96 per cent which made for great conditions.
In race one, Geoff Sweeney came out on top on a Laser Radial Olympic dinghy.
Eric Cadell finished in second place, also on a Laser Radial, followed by Tim Vandevoort in third place on a Spiral dinghy.
Owen Muyt took top spot in race two on Finn Olympic dinghy.
Chis Guy finished in second place on a Laser Std Olympic dinghy followed by Bill Quinn in third also on Laser.
There are only two more weekends to close the season out for the Commodore’s Cup and three races to be sailed for the Catamarans PS trophy.
The Southern Highlands Sailing club will meet at Fitzroy Dam every Sunday for the duration of the summer season.
There are normally two races starting at 1pm and 3pm.
All sailors are welcome.
Boats are handicapped according to the sailors ability.
