Girl talk was the motivating power at a Highlands fun run.
Sole Girls, a Canadian initiative for young girls, was brought to Australia by an Exeter mum.
Joelle Breault-Hood said she supported positive activity that encouraged self-exploration for girls about values, goals, nutrition and body image.
“Last term we explored several themes, and what it means to be strong, and acknowledging girls’ awesomeness.”
The term finished with a 5km run on April 2. Girls and their families ran, jogged and skipped to the finish line in the name of building confidence.
Sole Girls will run an extra program in Bowral on Mondays from 4pm to 5.30pm in Term 2.
The Exeter program will continue, but it is almost sold out. Details: www.solegirls.org
