The Parkinson’s Support Group will hold its next meeting on March 21 at Moss Vale Services Club on the corner of Argyle and Yarrawa Street, Moss Vale, from 10am. Guest speaker will be Jo-Anne Reeves who is the newly appointed CEO of Parkinson’s NSW. Details: Reg Pratley on 4862 3077.

Mittagong CWA
The Mittagong Branch of CWA will meet next on March 22. This will be held in the CWA rooms in Winifred West Park, Mittagong. There will be a full program of events with activities beginning at 10am with handicrafts. This will be followed by a luncheon at midday and the monthly meetings from 1pm. Woodworkers’ meeting
The next meeting of the Southern Highlands Woodies Group Inc will be held on March 25 at Charlton Hall, at the rear of Harbison Care. Activities begin from 9am when the clubhouse opens followed by show and tell for the members’ recent works from 11am.
The president’s challenge for March is a decorated bowl. The monthly meeting will be at 12.30pm followed by a demonstration of outboard turning from 1pm. This will be presented by internationally recognised woodturner and author of woodturning books and DVDs, Mike Darlow. Details: Martin on 0418 658 601.
Author talk
Friends of Wingecarribee Libraries will present the next author talk on March 21. This will be held in the Henriette Rose Room next to the Bowral Library from 10am. Guest speaker will be socio-political cartoonist Cathy Wilcox. She is best known for her cartoons in the Sydney Morning Herald.
Entry to the author talk is $10 for FOWL members and $15 for non-members. Morning tea will follow the talk and bookings are essential. Cooks River walk
Southern Highlands Bushwalkers Inc will stride out on a 19km trek on March 26.The Cooks River walk will cover the full distance from Rookwood to Botany Bay. This is definitely a walk to test fitness levels and participants should come prepared in comfortable walking clothes and shoes. Blood cancer education
The Bowral Blood Cancer Education and Support Group will meet on March 22. This will be held at the Southern Highlands Private Hospital from 10am until midday. The group is for those living with leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and related blood disorders. It is also open to the family of the people. Share experiences and exchange information in an informal, supportive and friendly environment.

Cancer support group
The Southern Highlands Cancer Centre Support Group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month with the next meeting on March 23 at the conference room at Southern Highlands Private Hospital. The meeting begins at 10am and continues until 11.30am. Facilitator is Katie Moran. The group offers support to both past and present Southern Highlands Cancer Centre patients and their carers. There is a guest speaker at meetings held during even months and suggestions of topics are welcome. During the odd months patients and carers can meet less formally. RSVP is needed for catering purposes and can be made through Katie on 4862 9469.
