Exeter Village Hall was recently upgraded and councillors voted unanimously at the February 8 meeting to name the two rooms after the Badgery and Reuben families. The 16 acres of land that makes up Exeter Park was donated to the community by the Badgery family.
Bernard and Florence Reuben were well known Exeter residents and as part of their estate a bequest of $10,000 was left to to the people of Exeter.
Funds from this bequest will be spent on resources in the Exeter Village Hall.
Councillor Duncan Gair also recommended a plaque for each of the rooms be placed in the hall to recognise the contributions these families have made to the shire.
