The Hume Coal Charitable Foundation applications are open for 2017. Each year, the foundation provides up to $400,000 in funding to eligible applicants. Applications for round one close on July 30, while round two is open until November 30.

Hume Coal media co-ordinator Ben Fitzsimmons said this year, the foundation encouraged students planning to undertake tertiary study in engineering, environmental science or business/commerce to apply for one of several scholarships available.
Funds are available for TAFE students, vocational education and training courses, tertiary and higher education, apprenticeships and traineeships in select fields and not-for-profit, pre-school childcare in the Wingecarribee.
