And what is a superhero without a cape? Excited youngsters were assisted by their parents and guardians to design a superhero cape with shooting stars, Batman symbols and comic book action bubble shapes.
When each of the budding superheroes had designed the layout of their cape design, Bowral Library staff were on hand with fusible web to iron on the shapes.
Council children’s and youth services librarian Trudy Eccleston said the super hero costume making day tied in with Wingecarribee Libraries’ summer reading club. “The theme has been heroes and villains, so we wanted to tie in some of our holiday activities with that theme,” she said.
The group was also able to test out their craft skills, making their own personalised face masks and wrist cuffs to match their new ensembles.
