Chris Hilder will compete as part of a three-man team at the Wodapalooza Fitness Festival in Miami.
Hilder is one of 30 elite athletes from across the world who qualified for the event.
The four day event will begin on January 12 and will ruin through to January 15.
This year, there will be an estimated 25,000 spectators in attendance at the competition.
This is the second time he has attended the competition and Hilder said he hoped to beat his placing from the previous competition in 2016.
Hilder placed 52nd out of 70 and said this year he was in better physical shape to finish with a higher ranking.
Hilder has been a CrossFit athlete for three years and said he hoped to one day qualify as an individual or as part of a team to compete at the sport’s pinnacle Australian event, the CrossFit Regionals, which are held in Wollongong every year in May.
