Eyob Geist has used his passion for hospitality to accelerate his training and qualifications while studying for the HSC.
The recent Chevalier College graduate completed a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Hospitality Food and Beverage program, which counted for two of his HSC units.
For his efforts, Eyob won the Southern Highlands Vet student of the Year award, and has secured a place at the William Blue College of Hospitality Management in Sydney.
“I spoke with my parents, friends and teachers, and everyone really encouraged me to follow this path,” he said.
He said the different learning style of the class was beneficial to his education.
“It was a lot more relaxed than a traditional class, and I gained work experience.”
