MOSS VALE is the town of opportunities galore.
A new campaign by the Moss Vale and Rural Chamber of Commerce aims to promote Moss Vale as the place to work and live in the Highlands.
Executive committee member Judi O’Brien said the initiative was also a way for residents to celebrate what is great about Moss Vale.
“It’s central to everything and it’s very much a community minded town.
“People look after each other in Moss Vale,” she said.
“We have excellent schools, access to great medical care; great transport and we have a lot of great places to eat.”
The Moss Vale- Opportunities Galore, Come and Join Us website was launched earlier this month.
The website has been designed to promote business in Moss Vale.
Each member of the business chamber has its own web page on the website.
Ms O’Brien said 16 new businesses had opened up or were about to open in the main street of Moss Vale over the past 12 months.
“You name it, we’ve got it,” she said.
“People like the fact that Moss Vale is very diverse.”
The idea to promote Moss Vale started about a year ago.
Ms O’Brien said there were “a lot of empty shops” and the chamber wanted to rejuvenate the town.
The website not only promotes business in Moss Vale but provides Highlands residents with information about services and events in the area.
“We want to build it into a go to website for everybody who lives and work in Moss Vale,” Ms O’Brien said.
As part of the initiative, the chamber will be running a radio promotion through 2ST over the next several weeks.
Moss Vale residents received a bumper sticker in the mail which could win them prizes if the sticker is spotted on their car.
Businesses in Moss Vale have donated various prizes, with the ultimate prize $1000.
Ms O’Brien said she hoped Moss Vale residents would get behind the campaign and promote the town as a great place to live and work.
“It’s such a fantastic gateway to the Southern Highlands.”
