THE wait is nearly over for the local business people of Southern Highlands.
The Local Business Awards winners for 2015 are set to be announced tonight.
Finalist businesses are hopeful their efforts in outstanding service to the local community will result in being recognised as the best in their category for 2015.
Regardless of whether a business wins, their status as a finalist deserves to be celebrated.
The 2015 Awards received a huge number of nominations from the public.
The high standards of customer service evident during this year's anonymous judging process was testament to the quality of business finalists for 2015.
The winners' announcement will take place at the Southern Highlands Local Business Awards presentation evening this evening.
The October 21 event will be at the Mittagong RSL Club on Bessemer St.
Demand for tickets saw the presentation evening sell out weeks ago, with a capacity audience of local business people, sponsors and dignitaries.
Southern Highlands Local Business Awards manager Steve Loe said the enthusiasm of businesses, customers and the community had been "very rewarding".
"The enormous number of customer nominations in support of their favourite local businesses and fantastic reports from the anonymous judges show me that the local businesses of the Southern Highlands have a quality that is worth taking pride in," Mr Loe said. "It is fantastic to see the local community support these deserving businesses."
Special thanks to major sponsors,Hume Coal and TrueLocal; and support sponsors Harper Entertainment Distribution Services, Clifton Accountants, Boral Cement Berrima, Wingecarribee Shire Council and Southern Highlands Business Women's Network.
Official media partner Southern Highland News will report on the presentation evening, including a special winners feature, in a future edition.
