Bowral's Fire and Rescue NSW brigade have fully trained snake handlers and are more than happy to test out their skills if required.
The brigade was recently called to Tony and Yvonne Springett's property on Mansfield Road in East Bowral to catch a one-metre copperhead snake. Retained firefighter Rob Read said the snake was "quite lively" as his colleagues tried to coax it out of a hedge.
He said it was the third snake captured this year and the reptiles were taken to bushland and released.
If you need a snake removed call Triple 0 or Bowral Fire Station on 4862 1446.
