After parring eight of nine holes in an imposing mid-round run, Clayton De Leeuw momentarily faltered but regathered on the final run into the clubhouse to card 42 points to nudge out the clubhouse leader Phil Cunich.
Earlier in the day, Cunich drew on his natural talent to score an even par 71 including six birdies, four on the back nine.
If not for some errant shots on the third and fourth holes, the charismatic thespian would have broken par and recorded his best round on the challenging layout.
De Leeuw's overall win secured top spot in B Grade with Rob Shakeshaft finding some form to post 40 points.
De Leeuw's sibling Ethan, also compiled 40 points to run fourth overall and second to Cunich in A Grade.
C Grade's Colin Goldrick held out the almost indomitable Edweena Jeffery on a countback to secure a well earned win and the major prize.
With rumours of an appearance by Alan Hose watered down, Wednesday's Par event attracted a relatively modest field of 92.
The course had soaked up the recent rain thanks to the masterful curation by Superintendent Nathan McGraw and his team.
A relatively demanding set up kept the scores low with only 12 players breaking their handicap and top of the tree at the finish was the likeable Ant Burridge who did enough to beat professional Bill Exten and the popular Graeme Millar on a countback.
Club pro Davyd Reeves made a rare appearance on the day to shoot the best nett score with a 71 off the stick.
