Bowral's first grade bowls side played St Mary's at the Bowral Bowling Club on Saturday, March 23 and came away with a nine point one point win, leaving them on track to win their first premiership after many years.

Ashley Lewis, Nathan Boyer's, Kevin Stafford and Mick Spong defeated St Mary's 31-10.
Bowral struggled in the first half of the match but still held a 11-7 lead after eleven ends.
Under the guidance of skipper Spong, they then stamped its authority on the match, winning nine out of 10 ends and not allowing St Mary's to stay in touch.
Terry Butt, Greg Lewis, Mick Anderson and Mick Armstrong defeated St Mary's 21-18.
St Mary's held a 9-6 lead after nine ends and Bowral needed some help from all players and this they did with some brilliant bowls to lead 12-9 at the halfway mark.
After 18 ends, the game was very tight with Bowral having a one shot lead 18-17 and they come away with a tense three shot win.
Alistair McGhee, David Coltman, Stephen Della and Dugald Braithwaite lost to St Mary's 25-19.
After eight ends, St Mary's had all the success leading 11-4 before Bowral launched its attack and scored seven shots to be on equal terms.
St Mary's then took every shot available to lead 17-11 after 15 ends.
Bowral then had to do everything right to get back into the match and this they did, taking all the opportunities to only trail by two shots with one end to play.
On the last end, St Mary's upset the apple cart, scoring four four shots to claim a six shot victory.
Second grade
Bowral had their first win of the season when they defeated Bundanoon.
Arnold Lenczuk, Peter Flight, Reta South and Bob Edwards defeated N.Donlan, R. Colley, G. Anderson and R. Burnham 27-11.
Both sides were taking no chances in a highly contested first half, with Bowral having a 11-6 lead, and after 16 ends, Bowral lead 15-10.
Bowral then started performing as a team to end up with a dominant 16 shot win
Lynn Boshier, Terry Norwood, Craig Norman and Bob Crowley defeated R.O'Mulliane, D.Wray, K.Holden and S.Granger 27-12.
Bowral had an 11-9 lead after eleven ends and from then on, it was all Bowral.
Noel Fraser, Jim Neely, Gail Fraser and Gordon Lewis lost to G.Grace, S.Kelly, S.Beveridge and P.Kellons 20-13.
Sometimes things don't go the way you want them and this was certainly the case for Bowral who were completely outplayed in the first half of the match.
Bowral had to find away back into the match and they did by drawing level after 15 ends.
There was little difference after 17 ends with the scores at 12-12 and playing the last three ends was tense with Bundanoon leading 15-13 with one end to play.
On the last end came the clincher for Bundanoon when they picked up five shots and had a seven shot win at the finish.
