Bowral had five players away on representative duty in Lithgow, but able to boost the playing ranks by lower grade bowlers.
Ted McPhee, Noel Fraser, Jim Neely and Nathan Boyer's defeated Asquith 20-14.
Bowral made a powerful start going to a 7-3 lead after seven ends.
The gap closed after 11 ends with scores equal 8-8 this generated excellent bowls by both sides with scores still equal 10-10 after 13 ends.
Then a commitment by Bowral had them shoot to a 20-10 lead with two ends to play and at the finish it was Bowral emerging the winners 20-14.
Carl Spilker, Glynn Phillips, Paul Leverett and Josh Woodcock lost to Asquith 23-14.
This match showed early promise of being hard to pick the winner there was top quality bowls played by both teams after 12 ends the scores locked at 11-11.
At the finish it was significant to say Asquith got on top of the match in the closing ends to win 23-14.
Robin Staples, Gordon Lewis, Bob Crowley and David Coltman lost to Asquith 29-13.
The Bowral side had Asquith on the ropes early going to a 4-0 lead after two ends, then Asquith started to show their talent and took a 7-4 lead after six ends, Bowral fought back to be on level terms 8-8 after nine ends.
The match still close after 12 ends with Asquith in front by one 11-10.
Asquith then set course for victory picking up 13 shots on the next four ends to have a lead 24-10.
At the end Asquith came away with a 29-13 win.
The Asquith Bowling Club put on a great bbq after the match and the hospitality was first class and allowing for the weather it turned out a great day.

Bowls coordinator Carl Spilker along with men's president, Bob Crowley announced after the match it is hoped to play this fixture on a home and away basis between the two clubs in January in the years ahead to give Asquith and Bowral pennant players a good work out before the pennant season starts.
