The sports rooms of New Ltd, publishers of the Daily Telegraph, have daggers sharpened all aimed at Todd's fashionable beard.
A few seasons ago I wrote and article lauding the appointment of Greenberg as the NRL's new CEO.
I said he would hold the position as long as he liked. What impressed me most about him was his integrity.
A little naive in some departments but as honest as the day. So why the campaign to shelf him on the even of the 2020 season?
He has been under fire since the NRL TV commercial for this season was launched last week.
His critics, and he now has more than Prince Harry, said the commercial was tacky and a poor comparison to the one Tina Turner shouted at us back in the seventies.
It's not tacky. No commercial will ever emulate Tina's "Simply The Best."
If Greenberg is to go he will die on his own sword. He is hell-bent on making the game "inclusive."
Inclusive is his pet word when discussion the future, expansion.
Todd, the game is too inclusive. Inclusive to the point where it has become un-Australian.
Take a peek at the teams for the opening round. NRL-National Rugby League?
Try Nationalities Rugby League. I have no problem accepting other nationalities playing the game.
After all, we are supposed to be enjoying a democratic life- style.
But not at the expense of young Australians.
Go, Aussie, go. Go and save Todd Greenberg's skin.
