Wingecarribee Shire Mayor Councillor Duncan Gair officially reopened the newly refurbished Wingello Community Hall this week.
The hall, sometimes referred to as the Wingello Mechanics Institute, was closed in the middle of the year as council undertook major refurbishments of the popular community facility.
Mayor Gair said making the hall more accessible was central to the $251,500 improvement program.
"Like many of our shire's public spaces the Wingello Community Hall has been a focal point for the residents of the village," he said.

"For over 100 years this hall has hosted bush dances, family celebrations, fundraisers and community meetings.
"But over the course of a centenary of service this lovely village hall was showing her age and it was decided that a proper refurbishment was in order."
As part of the upgrade an external accessible ramp was installed and an internal accessible toilet constructed.
Upgraded fire equipment and new emergency lighting was also fitted.
Joining the mayor for the reopening was the Goulburn MP Wendy Tuckerman.
"These refurbishments have resulted in a safer, more accessible and comfortable hall for all residents and visitors to Wingello," she said.
"I'm thrilled we were able to secure funding for this project and the village and ensure this lovely building continues to be enjoyed for generations to come."
The Wingello Community Hall Accessibility Upgrade Project was funded via the NSW Government's Community Building Partnership program and council's Investing in Our Future Special Rate Variation Improvement program.
The Wingello Community Hall is located on the corner of Railway Parade and Murrimba Road, Wingello.
