This was Andre's first competition with this lunger and first CVI. He tried so hard and did his best and shows significant promise with impressive and encouraging comments from the international judges.
Credit goes to Bella and her fellow vaulters, Erin Ryan and Bronagh Miskelly from Sydney Vaulting Team who took on the job of training and lunging each other for this competition while Kerri was out with significant injury leading up to the competition.
Also huge credit to Jes Hayden of Hayden Equestrian who has been his rider and trainer under saddle since his purchase a year ago.
Andre was bred by the Victorian Police and his temperament and athleticism have sealed his career in Equestrian Vaulting.
The significant competitors of the CVI Junior two class were, Bella Napthali, Bronagh Miskelly and Ginger Kennet. With a three phase event, it was a thrilling and spectacular performance by these three young athletes.
Bella won the compulsories, Bronagh the first freestyle round and Ginger the second freestyle round with an overall win to Ginger Kennet on her horse Donati 3 lunged by her mum, Georgie Kennet.
The CVI 2 Junior Pas de deux was won by Bella Napthali and Bronagh Miskelly vaulting on Andre and so taking home the Australian Champion Pas de Deux trophy.
This is a new combination and their skilful performance certainly wowed the crowds.
Erin Ryan took home bronze medal in the CVI1* also vaulting on Andre. SVG coach Lyn Lynch and SHVT Coach Lani Maher have put in the hard yards mentoring and encouraging these athletes and pushing them to achieve their best.
So very proud of Team Andre. Thank you girls for taking on our green horse and giving him the opportunity. We learnt a lot and laughed a lot with great support from our vaulting family.
"2019 Nationals was so much fun" Napthali said.
"It's a great learning experience for everyone involved. I am so grateful for my support network and amazing team of horse, lunger, coach and vaulting family."
