The first round matches of minor singles were played and in the match of the day Ted McPhee and Chris Forrester defeated Kevin Jones and Harold Wall 22-19.

The first half of the match very tight with scores locked at 3-3, 4-4 and 9-9 after ten ends.
Then the best play came from Jones and Wall who won five ends in a row to go to a 17-9 lead. With six ends to play, McPhee and Forrester then started some good all-round shots and outplayed Jones And Wall.
They won the last six ends to come away with a brilliant three shot win.

Bowls secretary Dan Ticehurst has announced the first round club championship fours will be held Saturday, October 12.
Entries close on the same day. Entries also close for senior singles Saturday October 12.
The Bowral combined ladies and men's clubs will host the Merrylands RSL Lawn Bowlers Club, for their annual visit to Bowral on Sunday, October 13.
The format has been changed to two morning and afternoon games.
The mixed pairs this year will be played as a round robin and will be played on Sunday October 20, 27 and November 3.
