Mem Fox, author of Possum Magic, will talk about her latest picture book 'The Tiny Star'. The Tiny Star was inspired by Mem's strong connection with her grandson.
"He and I have become so attached to each other that the thought of my dying and leaving him bereft makes me want to sob. I get a lump in my throat at the very thought of it," she said.
The Tiny Star - stunningly told in the unmistakably wise and lyrical voice that is Mem Fox - provides a delicate jump-off point to start the conversation. The night sky, brought to vibrant life by artwork by acclaimed illustrator Freya Blackwood, is a unifying presence, its vastness a reminder that life goes on.
The Tiny Star is an uplifting celebration of family, community and love: full of tenderness and comfort for any child or adult who might have lost someone special.
Mem Fox will be speaking on October 3 at Centennial Vineyards from 10:30 am. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the Bowral Bookshop.
