For some the excitement is keen. For others the closing of a season is a bit somber. In either case it was somewhat more 'cruisy' that our previous Saturday which was nothing other than hectic.
Despite the weather apps warning of intimidating 'feels like' temperatures we found ourselves ditching the layers during an almost spring like morning.
During our u10s match we had another of 'those moments'. It seemed many around the fields just happened to look at the right time to see an absolutely cracking save by a first time goalie.
Fabulous enough but then the response of his defenders took it to the next level. Nothing instils more pride than seeing your junior players displaying such gamesmanship.
Their eyes lit up and they spontaneously congratulated Alex on his efforts. That's what team sport is all about.
Junior coach Jemma saw her U12s team to a win in the absence of her co-coach mum, triggering the obligatory 'better coach' bragging.
Their 2-1 win over Exeter achieved with a goal each from Zemirah Furniss and Oliver Oswald.
The U13s had their final bye of the season. Youth grade and the Gold ladies also had the day off with a bye.
The U15s went down 7-2 to Bundanoon. Ethan Shobrook worked hard to come away with a double.
The Maroon men met Yerrinbool Green in a match that unfortunately ended early when the Yerrinbool goalie was injured. Maroon was leading at the time with a goal each to Daniel Freere and Kobe Brown.
We wish the goalie well and hope for his speedy recovery.
The Gold men prevailed 4-0 over Hill Top and are working well at the right end of the season.
Jonathan Hammond hit a double, with Kurt Crawford and Rudney Chimichek assisting with one each.
The Maroon ladies had a strong 9-0 win over Yerrinbool. Erin Sommers was striking the ball beautifully and hit four - two off perfectly executed corner kicks.
She was assisted with doubles from Emma Green and Natasha Wann and one from Olivia Wann.
The Gold ladies had a road trip Sunday to play a catch up match with MBK United in Goulburn.
The closely fought nil all draw sees them cemented in 4th place on the ladder and puts our 2nd grade side into the 1st grade finals series.
With the final round of normal competition this Saturday all five senior teams have booked a place in the finals, along with our U13s team.
