These young women continue to break down barriers for their game and ensure the future of the competition remains a positive and expanding one .
Mittagong Lions 16 Girls League Tag (GLT) players, Holly Bennett, Emma Keeley, Ebony Monro and Chelsea Pickering played their last home game as juniors and they reflected on their time at the club that helped shape them as athletes.
Bennett has been a Lioness for three years wanted to follow her family into the sport they love.
"My brother played," Bennett said.
"I really liked the game and this is what they offered to girls. My whole family were Lions, so I'm really proud to be a part of the club."
Keeley has been apart of the Lions since she was little. She began playing two years ago and loves donning the Lions green and gold.
"I've always wanted to be here," Keeley said.
"I supported my brothers when they were on the field. I love being a part of the club. It's like a family. I'm proud to represent the club."
I love being a part of the club. It's like a family.

Friendship opened the door for both Monro and Pickering. Bennett asked them to join the Lions pack and they haven't looked back.
"When we got our first win for the girls team, that was such a great feeling," Monro said.
"It's more than a footy club here. They support you in things other than football. It's friends and family and we're very intertwined in the community."
"Beating Bowral for our first win was a really great memory," Pickering said.
"It feels great to run onto the field in Lion's colours. As an ambassador I get to attend special events and represent the club. If any of the girls need to talk I'm also an ear for them."
The girls couldn't recreate their first victory falling 14-12 to Bowral. It was a tight match but they'll have their senior playing careers to get retribution over their cross town rivals.
