Mittagong's Tremaine Gallagher has been selected to represent Australia in November. He will travel over to England to compete in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Youth World Championships.
The game has been instilled into Gallagher since he can remember. He comes from a line of darts players and plans to continue that legacy.
"Playing darts is in my blood," Gallagher said.
"I played with my mum, dad and my older sister also played. Watching them play inspired me. I've been chucking darts since I could properly hold one.
"Playing came naturally to me and the game was naturally in my life.
"The family fell out of the game, but I wanted to continue. I've made it my career and I'll continue to chase my dreams."
Gallagher keeps his eye sharp in the Mittagong District Darts Association but the real challenges stretch to our neighboring country.
"I play in an elite level of competition called the Dart Players Australia League," Gallagher said.
"That's players from all around Australia and New Zealand competing. I qualified second in the youth rankings for the year and then was offered a spot on the Australian team. So now it's time to make it happen."

Gallagher was offered a spot on the Australian team and this is a major step in realising his dreams
"I was stoked when it was announced I had made the team," Gallagher said.
"I was happy to know that dreams and hard work do pay off, and that can make you the happiest person you can be."
While in England, victory is in the mind of Gallagher but it's not the only thing he's heading over there for.
"Everyone likes to win (laughs)," Gallagher said.
"I'll be heading over there to win. But while I'm there I want to learn many new things.
"England is the heart of darts so you should learn a lot more from the guys there, then you can here at home in Australia.
"I've set my goals and I'm working harder than ever to achieve those goals. My big goal is to be a permanent player in England and hopefully play in the World Championships. I think everyone's main goal in darts is to be on the big stage and that's where I've set my biggest goals."
"I'll be over there chasing my dreams and hopefully I'll learn more about the game then I do watching it on TV (laughs)."
Chief executive officer of Dartsplayers Australia Rob Denny said "It's obviously great for Tremaine to be heading over to England wearing the Australian colours"
"He's worked hard for this throughout his whole darting career," he said.
"Hopefully Tremaine can inspire more of the younger generations to take up the game of darts across the region."
