Bob Crowley, Graham Hunt, Oscar Wahlin and Robin Staples defeated Camden 28-10. After this match it emerged that this is a top side, having won their first three matches with big margins, but they did not receive the support they needed from the other two sides.
Peter Watson, Mike Holmwood, Bill Meredith and Bob Edwards lost to Camden 24-18. For a quarter of the match Bowral held their own, then it was all Camden.
Daniel Lewis, Owen Williams, Gordon Lewis and Don Chapman lost to Camden 26-11. Bowral never seemed to function in this game.
Final result: Camden 60 shots, Bowral 57 shots.
Bowral 3rd grade played Bargo at Bowral and increased their chances in the competition with a solid win.
Joel Hunt, Richard Denman, Jim Starkey and Mick Flynn defeated Bargo 28-18.
Kel Limbrick, Glen Giese, Peter Morales and Dan Ticehurst defeated Bargo 25-11.
John Edmonds, Kevin Jones, Rick Reynolds and Clive Neutze lost to Bargo 24-16.
Final result: Bowral 69 shots, Bargo 53 shots.
On Sunday at Bowral, Bowral 2nd grade played Campbelltown City. The least said about this match the better, with last minute replacements plus one team having to go on a player short.
Selectors will need to have a serious look at player selections.
Peter Watson, Mike Holmwood, Bill Meredith and Bob Edwards defeated Campbelltown City 15-13.
Owen Williams, Gordon Lewis and Don Chapman lost to Campbelltown City 22-17, but showed a strong fighting spirit playing with a player short to only go down by five shots.
Bob Crowley, Graham Hunt, Eric Willacy and Robin Staples lost to Campbelltown City 17-11. Problems before this match started with last minute changes to the side, with a player being taken up to first grade.
Bowral 3rd grade played Camden at Bowral.
This was a quality match with Bowral almost causing the upset of the the round, going into the last end leading by three shots, only for Camden to score four shots, Camden winning the master board by one shot.
To sum up the double header weekend: to all players in all grades a big commitment and thank you.
To participants who failed to turn up on the Sunday you only let your team members down.
Otherwise a very competitive weekend, and good to see the first grade have the first win of the season.
