The Dolphins scored a narrow 9-8 victory over the Sharks.
It was a game where spectators were kept on the edge of their seats for the duration of the match, with the result going right down to the final whistle.
The first quarter was won by the Dolphins, 3-2, with their gun player, Daniel Barnes, scoring two and Ben Canute adding the extra goal.
Goals to Shark’s Miles Lochhead and Ian Feary, kept them in touch with the Dolphins.
The second period saw the Sharks strike back as they took the period 3-2 , with Lochhead playing one of his best games of the season, scoring again, with Gabrielle Butcher and Jason Nicholas adding their names to the score sheet.
Daniel Barnes and Russel Endersby chimed in for Sharks to lock up the halftime score at 5-5.
The third period was intense with great defence meeting sharp attack. The Dolphins managed to outpoint Sharks scoring 2 to the Sharks one.
Barnes was again hard to contain while Steve Dunn added the second for Dolphins. Jason Nicholas added the extra goal for Sharks and his second of the match.
The tension of the last quarter was handled well by both teams, as they kept composure scoring two goals each.
Blake Osborne snatched an opportunity and Russel Endersby scored his second to allow Dolphins to remain in front on the full time hooter.
Steph Maitz scored and Lochhead added his third to the score line for Sharks.
The other A grade game wasn’t nearly as close, as Mariners 12 defeated Polar Bears 2.
The Mariners ship couldn’t have sailed any better, as their shots and passes were absolutely spot on.
Polar Bears had no answers and the Mariners would be hard to beat against any side with a repeat of this performance.
To be fair Polar Bears wouldn’t have been happy with what seemed to be an out of form night. Leading 6-0 at halftime Mariners were never troubled.
Will Jamieson scored three, Jovi Winters 2, Jason Sellers 2, John Jamieson 2 Will Docherty, Campbell Wakleing and Hamish Ta-mao one each.
In B grade Mariners 8 Defeated Oxley Blue 2.
Just like their A grade team they set out with purpose and led 6-0 at halftime. The Oxley team did much better in the second half, holding the Mariners to 2-2. Mariners can be pleased with their positive effort.
For Mariners Leanne Butcher scored two, Craig Humphreys, Will Humphreys, Alexandra McCue, Ross Menzies and Campbell Wakeling all scored.

Tijmen Regan scored both of Oxley Blue’s goals.
Dolphins 10 defeated Oxley Gold 4 in a match that saw the good form of their A grade team continued.
Leading 6-1 at half time the Dolphins never looked in danger.
Oxley Gold put in a better second half 3-4 but the Mariners ship had sailed.
For Mariners Hamish Barber scored 4, Alex Teao 3, Hamish Teao and Hal Canute 1.
Polar Bears defeated Horton’s Heroes on forfeit.
The front runners of the competition couldn’t muster sufficient players on the night but are still leading the competition.
