The Hill Top kookaburra’s are a force to be reckoned within the Highlands Soccer Association and they have just appointed a new president of the club, Aaron Fox.
Hill Top have continually battled with other powerhouse teams in the league and they are coming off their most successful season in history. The newly acquired president expects the culture and winning ways to continue.
“Hill Top is one of the bigger clubs in the association. It’s a fantastic club and it’s great to be involved off the field,” Fox said.
“Hill Top has always been a strong and healthy club for the kids, we want to build on that this year, one of the things we are doing is a family fun event for registration day that will have a lot of great activities.
“The culture at Hill Top has always been brilliant and it’s our job to keep it that way.”
Fox was very modest on reflecting upon his playing days, “you can put this on record, I was a third grader, kick about player” but his passion and confidence came from when speaking about the club and its future, along with his time as a coach.
“I’ve coached the under 15s and we went on to win the knockout cup and the grand final,” Fox said.
“Having another three Hill Top teams represented in the finals had us coming off the clubs most successful season in it’s history.
“It’s a great club to involved with from the under 6s all the way up to the first grade guys. There are a lot of really good people here, very family orientated which will be our job to continue to build on.
“The club will always have room for new players, if you play for Hill Top it’s a fun club, a real sense of family and we’re the only club in last season’s competition to have a team in every age group, including the women’s teams.
“We’re certainly a very high spirited club to be apart of and there’s a lot of hard working people that make sure the experience is educational and fun.”
Fox knows that the transition from a coaching role to the presidency will be a challenge, but he’s looking forward to it. Fox also knows that he has the support of the Hill Top community and that will give him the best opportunity for a successful tenure as president.

“Throughout the season we still have our great sponsors who donate things every week for the kids on the junior teams.,” Fox said.
“Coaching was twice a week, training and then game day, with the presidency, there’s something happening at the club everyday.
“The idea is to have each and every kid that plays having fun and an educational experience.
“We’ve got some excellent junior coaches who will make sure that happens.
“I really want to make sure that every kid has a really fun, enjoyable time playing for Hill Top. I’ve got three boys myself playing juniors this year and I want every kid from our club to return next year.”
