Celebrating 11 years since the release of their debut album “Between Last Night and Us” coming off a sell-out national tour, The Audreys are headed to the Southern Highlands
The Audreys inception began while on Keith Urban’s tour bus.
“We were sipping French champagne in the spa of keith’s tour bus and thought, this music thing is obviously where it’s at, we should give it a crack,” Ms Coates said.
From the back of the tour bus to three time ARIA winners, Taasha said their first ARIA was the one they’re most proud of.
“That was the first time I realised that this was a real thing, that I was really going to be allowed to play music for a living,” she said.
“Having said that, I still don’t have a spa on my tour bus,” joked Taasha.
Collaborations from some of Australia’s most inspiring artists have stimulated their musical psyche.
“Paul Grabowsky blew me away. His playing is so inventive, so unique,” Ms Coates said.
“I loved doing a duet with Tim Rogers, I’ve recently been working with John Schumann and that’s been amazing.”
Living interstate has had it’s difficulties with creating new music for the band.
“We don’t write when we’re touring, which is kind of a shame because it would be more convenient,” Ms Coates said.
“We did write one record in New York, and one at a beach house on the Great Ocean Road.”
Making time to write with each other in either Adelaide or Melbourne, is the best way to create music.

Bowral Bowling Club is on The Audreys tour card and fans can expect songs from all of The Audreys’ albums.
“If I’m lucky Tristan might let me sneak in one or two songs from my solo record,” Taasha said.
“We’ll take requests from the crowd, play a silly cover or two, tell lots of bad jokes, probably bicker on and off and play way overtime. We always do that,” she said.
